I have a separate (non-rpi) device that I use as a media server for plex among other things. I don't need to access any web server running on the pi or have a separate app for playing the music there. I like this because from any spotify app I can switch the device over to the rpi and the music comes out of the speakers. I do this currently with spotify, as the rpi runs rpi-audio-receiver with the spotifyd daemon. I want to set up a self-hosted music server that will allow me to play on one of my devices, or alternatively play the music through my speakers connected to my stereo (the actual mechanism of playing would be handled through a raspberry pi connected to the aux input). I've been trying to find the exact words to describe what I'm looking for, and so far searching hasn't helped (possibly because I'm lacking the right way to describe it), but here goes.
